He is obsessed with Minecraft! He watcges videos and creates his own world. My 7 year old son just rece...Love, love, love this. My 7 year old son just recently (5 months) started playing video games (Minecraft chief among them). His journey is just as you described it. He hasn't shown any interest in learning to read until now. He wants to make signs and message people. It's awesome to see how motivated he became to communicate. I was worried he was behind (he got rejected from attending a private grade 2 Montessori because he wasn't a fluent reader). I felt like I'd failed him because we unschooled this year and I never pushed reading. I wanted him to come to it on his own, but then doubted I'd made the "right" decision.
